Frequently Asked Questions
What does the information in brackets after the thickness mean? For example, 6mm (4 by 6)?
The numbers in brackets describe the thickness of the wire rope with and without sheathing. In this example, the wire rope without sheathing is 4mm thick and including the plastic sheathing it is 6mm.
How big/wide is the loop?
The loops of the wire ropes are pressed uniformly according to DIN specifications and have a size of the rope diameter factor of 15, resulting in the following loop heights and widths: • 3mm (2 to 3): 43mm loop height inside, 20mm loop width inside • 4mm (3 to 4): 46mm loop height inside, 20mm loop width inside • 6mm (4 to 6): 67mm loop height inside, 28mm loop width inside • 8mm (6 to 8): 80mm loop height inside, 34mm loop width inside
To what minimum diameter can the loops of the wire ropes be compressed?
The minimum loop width per rope diameter is listed below: 3mm (2 on 3) rope thickness: 11mm minimum loop width | 4mm (3 on 4) rope thickness: 18mm minimum loop width | 6mm (4 on 6) rope thickness: 25mm minimum loop width | 8mm (6 on 8) rope thickness: 34mm minimum loop width | 10mm (8 on 10) rope thickness: 43mm minimum loop width | 12mm (10 on 12) rope thickness: 58mm minimum loop width
Is it possible to pass one loop through the other loop?
Yes, the loop size allows one loop to pass through the other loop.
Hi, I need a length of 150cm. Where do you measure the length of the rope? So is the rope with the 2 loops really 150cm long?
The specified length refers to the actual usable length of the wire rope, from the load-bearing point to the load-bearing point of the loops. You can find a representation of the length of the wire rope under the technical details. In your case, the usable length of the wire rope is actually 150cm.
What is the diameter of the press connection?
The diameter of the ferrules always corresponds to the outer rope diameter x 2. For a 10mm (8 by 10) coated wire rope, the diameter of the ferrules corresponds to 20mm.
